Les 17 objectifs de développement durable des Nations Unies établissent la marche à suivre pour un avenir meilleur. Ils répondent aux enjeux mondiaux en synthétisant les défis environnementaux et sociaux. L’industrie de la mode a une corrélation directe avec cet agenda. Ces objectifs interconnectés résonnent avec notre approche holistique et nous nous engageons pour leur réalisation à chaque étape de notre production.

Goals 1, 2 & 3: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being

Sustainable development requires the creation of jobs that promote equality. We pay our craftsmen and craftswomen in line with the value we give on their precious know-how. We create jobs in India, where we support a sericulture that promotes the financial independence of women. Concerned about the health of our planet and its communities, we favor natural materials from organic farming that are GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standards) and use no pesticides or chemicals.

Goals 5, 8 & 10: Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities

Reducing inequality requires the development of decent and fairly paid jobs. We are committed to the creation of fair employment in India but also in Europe through our partnerships with family workshops in Portugal and with French manufacturers. Women’s independence and financial autonomy, a strong preamble to gender equality, are at the core of our actions. We support a feminine sericulture in India and promote the artisanal know-how of women from the nor.

Goals 6, 14 & 15: Clean Water and Sanitation, Life Below Water and on Land

The fashion industry is the source of extensive soil and water pollution. The discharge of micro plastics into the oceans, due to the washing of synthetic clothes, is accompanied by soil degradation and excessive water consumption due to cotton cultivation. Our response takes the form of sustainable fashion using only non-toxic materials and GOTS-certified dyes to avoid polluting the soil and waterways. Our organic cotton and peace silk require less water than traditional crops and respect animal life. Our 100% natural and biodegradable fibers leave no trace of our garments on our planet.

Objectives 9 & 17: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Partnerships for the Goals

Only Inclusive partnerships will make it possible to achieve sustainable development goals. We participate in UN summits and assemblies in Kenya and New York. We support UNECE Forest for fashion to promote a sustainable fashion more forest friendly; a commitment that has led to the presentation of a collection in Geneva. Creator but also activist, Camille Jaillant does not hesitate to speak out, as she did during her intervention with the ILO (International Labor Organization) to underline the importance of women’s work in India and the need to preserve their ancestral know-how. We collaborate with the NGO Zoï Environment with which we have co-created the Zoï Fashion alliance to promote the circular economy and eco-responsible materials.

In line with the 9th principle of the United Nations agenda, we consider technological progress and innovation necessary to achieve sustainability goals. To this end, we have built partnerships combining fashion, technology and sustainability with Fashinnovation for the creation of digital catwalks and with Arianee to integrate the blockchain technology in our production.

Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

“Doing more and better with less” is one of the objectives of sustainable development. This philosophy is embodied in our production cycle as well as in our very definition of fashion. We produce sustainable pieces with high-quality finishes in partnership with suppliers and family workshops that share our sense of excellence. Our products are offered in limited quantities with respect for natural resources; in particular thanks to the use of ethical and sustainable peace silk.

Reducing waste and extending the textile lifecycle are crucial issues for fashion. We reuse dormant stocks of fabrics and leather offcuts from luxury tanneries and recycle our previous collections to give textiles a second life. Our slow collections are timeless and accompany women year after year. In order to allow our customers to buy consciously, we collaborate with Arianee and use the blockchain technology to certify the authenticity of our garments and offer more transparency on our supply chain.

Goal 13: Climate Action

The fashion industry generates more greenhouse gases than shipping and international flights combined. Fashion is directly concerned by the fight against global warming. We have chosen to set up our workshops in the north of Portugal, not far from Paris. We do not use any synthetic materials to manufacture our collections and we adopt the principles of circular economy through upcycling, recycling and the use of a 100% compostable and biodegradable packaging. We offset the emissions due to the transport of our collections to obtain a neutral carbon footprint and always give priority to road and rail transport.
